Teach For India introduces an initiative that aims at building constitutional values in children

Own Correspondent

Teach For India introduced the 'India and I’ studies in June 2022, with a promise to enable every student to find their greatest role in making India better. It intends to deepen students’ understanding of our constitutional values – Equality, Liberty, Fraternity & Justice; and to explore these seemingly abstract concepts by embodying them in their daily lives. These studies also aim to build future citizens by developing key 21st-century skills that encourage expression and action toward change.

The module provides a very simple and comprehensible approach towards introducing the Indian constitution by breaking it down into the 4 constitutional values – Equality, Liberty, Fraternity & Justice. The students get to explore these seemingly abstract concepts by embodying them in their daily lives.

India & I’ studies have been successfully implemented in 50 classrooms spread across the country - Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Surat, and Nanakmatta. We have reached 3500 students through this implementation and intend to reach 100000 students and educators in the coming year.
